More Ysolda

As so many knitters, I could not resist knitting an Ishbel. This one was worked from Poshyarn Lucia and it is the small version of the pattern. I am very happy with it.

Did I complain about boring knitting? Well, I will be happy to knit away on some mindless stuff the next couple of days. My mother is ill again and I will be gone for some time. I am afraid, there will be no blogging while I am gone. I wish you a good time and hopefully "see" you on Monday again.

Wie so viele Strickerinnen, konnte auch ich der Ishbel nicht widerstehen. Dies ist die kleine Variante aus poshyarn Lucia. Ich bin sehr mit dem Ergebnis zufrieden.

Habe ich mich über langweilige Strickprojekte beklagt? Nun, die nächsten Tage werde ich dankbar sein für "langweilige" Strickerei. Meine Mutter ist leider wieder krank, und ich werde daher ein paar Tage weg sein. In dieser Zeit gibt es nichts zu lesen von mir. Ich hoffe, wir "sehen" uns am Montag wieder.

Poppy

Every year Christmas articles, especially sweets, but also decoration seem to appear earlier in the shops, don't they? We have had typical Christmas sweets in the shops since early August!!! And yesterday, I discovered that the china shop has gotten out its Christmas decorations!

Jedes Jahr scheinen die Weihnachtsartikel noch früher in den Läden angeboten zu werden. Dieses Jahr gab es Marzipankartoffeln und Spekulatius schon Anfang August zu kaufen!!! Und gestern hat Villeroy und Boch doch tatsächlich die Fenster mit käuflich erwerbbarer Weihnachtsdeko versehen!

Well, whether this worked on me sub-consciously or whether it was just the cuteness of the doll, I finished this Christmas present on the weekend. Poppy by Ysolda knit from sock yarn. I used two strands at the same time, as I did not have any DK weight yarn in my stash. Since Poppy goes to one of two sisters, I will knit another one for the sister.

Ob es nun daran lag oder einfach daran, dass Poppy so süß ist, ich habe auf jeden Fall dieses Weihnachtsgeschenk am Wochenende fertig gestellt. Poppy von Ysolda geht an eine von zwei Schwestern und damit die andere nicht traurig ist, werde ich natürlich noch eine stricken. Da ich kein DK in natur im Wollvorrat hatte, habe ich Sockenwolle zweifädig verstrickt.

Bored

Have you ever been bored with your knitting? I could not say, that I have too few knitting projects going, but somehow they all classify as easy knitting. While easy knitting is fine for commuting, waiting at the post office or doctor's, meeting friends and chating or watching a very interesting movie; it is boring when you sit at home and focus on your knitting. This was my dilemma all last week and on the weekend. What should I do? Cast on a more challenging project and have yet another Wip? Or keep going? Fortunately, my husband had downloaded a substantial number of knitpicks podcast episodes. They are very entertaining, often have nice technique features and are only rarely chatty. So, I went on with my "boring" projects and finished off two while listening to some interesting knit talk.

Haben Euch Eure Strickprojekte schon mal gelangweilt? Ich könnte ja nun nicht behaupten, dass ich zu wenige angefangene Projekte habe, aber irgendwie habe ich es geschafft, nur einfache Projekte zu haben. Normalerweise sind das alles Projekte, die ich unterwegs, in der Warteschlange oder wenn ich mich mit Freunden treffe stricke. Die Mountain View ist auch ganz ideal, um nebenbei zu lesen.

Allerdings sind es alles Projekte, die mich langweilen, wenn ich einfach nur dasitze und stricke. Dieses Dilemma verfolgte mich die vergangene Woche und am Wochenende. Was sollte ich tun, noch ein Projekt anschlagen? Zum Glück hatte mein Mann mir knitpicks podcast Episoden auf den MP3 Player geladen, die sind meistens sehr interessant, nur manchmal reines "chit-chat" und so bin ich mit den angefangenen Projekten doch noch ein gutes Stück vorangekommen - auch wenn ich dadurch natürlich nicht "einfach nur konzentriert gestrickt" habe. :D
