Tart Lime Socks

I cannot repeat it often enough, I really do love Mimknits designs. Her pattern instructions are well written and easy to follow and the result is always satisfying beyond measure. These are her Tart Lime Socks and the only modification I made was the choice of a different heel. I prefer a short row heel to any other forms of heels, which all tend to be floppy on my foot.

The yarn is Yarn Addict sockyarn and was a Christmas gift from a very awesome lady. It was my first Yarn Addict experience and the yarn knit up smoothly and has a very nice feel to it.

Ich kann es wohl nicht oft genug sagen, aber ich liebe die Designs von Mimknits. Ihre Anleitungen sind immer klar formuliert und einfach nachzuarbeiten. Das Ergebnis ist immer zufriedenstellend. Dies sind ihre Tart Lime Socks und ich habe nichts als die Ferse geändert. Ich mag einfach die Bumerangferse am liebsten, da alle anderen bei mir schlecht sitzen.

Das Garn ist Yarn Addict Sockyarn, das ich zu Weihnachten von einer Freundin bekam, die ich aus vielerlei Gründen sehr bewundere. (Ich wünschte, ich könnte manche ihrer Eigenschaften mein eigen nennen). Ich habe zum ersten Mal Yarn Addict verarbeitet und das Stricken damit war sehr angenehm. Die Zwirnung gefiel mir gut, das Garn ist weich und fühlt sich auch beim Tragen sehr angenehm an.

22 Leaves

This is my third shawl in 2011 knit from some wonderful Wollmeise sockyarn. The pattern is 22 Leaves by Lankakomero and was a Ravelry knitalong . I was busy with other projects at the time of the KAL, but had it in my queue ever since. It was a quick knit and I enjoy wearing it. Knitting Wollmeise is always such a pleasure that the project made from it always gains priority over all other projects in my house. :D

My drittes Tuch für 2011. 22 Leaves von Lankakomero gestrickt aus der wunderbaren Wollmeise Sockenwolle. Mit Wollmeise ist immer ein solches Vergnügen zu stricken, dass dieses Projekt immer sofort Priorität gegenüber allen anderen Projekten gewinnt. Während des Ravelry KAL zu 22 Leaves war ich allerdings mit anderen Projekten beschäftigt, so dass es eine Weile auf meiner Warteliste verharren mußte.

Finn, Ben or Patrick?

Dieser Huggable heißt eigentlich "Finn". Ich schwankte mehr zwischen Ian und Patrick aufgrund seines Outfits. Bekommen hat ihn unser Neffe, daher das 'B' als Initiale. Er hat ihn allerdings kurzerhand "Lila" getauft!. Tja, so ist das mit Nomen est Omen...


This Huggable originally is called Finn - and in the pattern wears a blue outfit. I could not make up my mind between Ian and Patrick. My little nephew (his initial is B) who received the Huggable as a Christmas present, baptized him "Lila" ("Purple". So much about Nomen est Omen. :D

I had so much fun knitting Finn, that I am currently making an Abbey.

Comfy Shawl

This is the second - albeit No 1 - of the shawls for 2011. The pattern is by Miriam L.Fenton and called comfy shawl. I bet you can see why it bears this name. I had 8 skeins of the yarn and every intention of using it all up. However, after 4 skeins the shawl had reached a vry comfy size already. Bind off was done in Debbie Bliss's Maya.


Das ist der zweite von den 11 "Shawls", obwohl ich diesen zuerst gestrickt habe. Die Anleitung gibt es bei Mimknits. Es ist der "Comfy Shawl" und das Tuch ist in der Tat ein Kuscheltuch geworden. Eigentlich wollte ich alle 8 Knäuel der Wolle dafür verbrauchen, aber nach vier hatte das Tuch schon eine sehr kuschelige Größe erreicht. Der Abschluß ist mit Debbie Bliss Maya gestrickt und peppt das Tuch nochmal auf.

Mizzle Fan

I could not resist signing up for 11 shawls in 2011 and here is the first of two shawls I made in January. Originally, I wanted to do Mizzle, but when I reached the edging, the yarn demanded a feather and fan edging. Well, who am I to oppose the yarn's wishes?


Ich konnte nicht widerstehen und habe mich wieder bei Ravelry für 11 Shawls in 2011 angemeldet. Dies ist einer von zwei "Shawls", die im ich Januar gestrickt habe. Ursprünglich wollte ich ja Mizzle stricken, aber als ich zum Abschluß kam, verlangte die Wolle nach "Feather and Fan". Wer bin ich, dass ich diesen Wunsch hätte mißachten können?

Hydrangea Cowl

Another cowl I knit in the pre-Christmas frenzy. This is the Hydrangea Cowl by Anne Hanson, whose Poinsettia was my first cowl. You first knit the main body and then add a knitted on border. I think it is quite nice.

Noch ein Cowl, den ich in der Vorweihnachtszeit gestrickt habe. Dies ist der Hydrangea von Anne Hanson, deren Poinsettia mein erster Cowl war. Bei diesem Nackenwärmr wird zunächst ein gerades Stück rund gestrickt und dann die Spitzenkante angestrickt. Hübscher, kleiner Cowl.
