Socks for the Bennetts

Sock summit in Portland and sock special on Knotions, I thought are a good time to present a couple of socks I knit lately.

Over on Ravelry they have a Jane Austen discussion group and, of course, we also try to knit something more or less related to the novel discussed. Our last fruitful discussion was of Pride and Prejudice and one of my knitting projects was "Socks for the Bennets" or 7 pairs of socks, one for a male and 6 for females. Most of them are plain stockinette or k3p2 socks, therefore I only present 5 of the 7 pairs. However, I finally knit a pattern that has been on my list for quite a while: Joanna's beautiful Saguro socks. Pattern is available for free on her blog. I have used Atelier Zitron natura bamboo sockyarn and I love the feel of it. I am afraid the picture does not do them any justice. Joanna has much better pics on her blog.

Wahl Kiste.

That is a lot of socks. And very nice they are. I particularly like the blue, green, and red ones. I hope the saugro ones are for Elizabeth. But I bet they are for Lydia. She is that type.
