"Ulrike's fault"

When I saw Ulrike's blog entry on the Primavera socks, I immediately fell in love with them and decided to knit them for my mother. The pattern is so easy to remember, but the effect is quite nice.

Ribe

during our holidays in Denmark, we visited a small, but very lovely museum in Ribe. The main exhibition focuses on the Vikings and the development of Ribe. (I'll show you some interesting pics of it later). On the second floor, however, there was a small textile exhibition. From my non-existing Danish I gathered that these hats were made by students of textile arts. Here are my favourites. Aren't they wonderful?

When you go down the stairs to the basement, where the museum has installed a middle ages market for the kids to act out what they have learned in the museum, you come across this almost hidden treasury:

Made in Denmark

We are back from two weeks in Denmark, where we had a wonderful time.

Inspired by Knitaly's hat attack, the first thing I knit during the holidays was this hat for my daughter. She has worn it ever since - Denmark is very windy.

The pattern for this hat is available for free. The yarn I used was thicker than the one in the pattern, it was a needle size 6 - 8 mm yarn and the hat had to be smaller as it was for my daughter, not for an adult. For the smaller hat, I cast on 24 stitches and only made four gaps for each section.
