Gryffindor pullover

Oh my goodness, March draws to an end and I still have not shown you the sweater I knit form my son for Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Meine Güte, da geht der März schon fast zu Ende und ich habe noch immer nicht diesen Weihnachtspulli gebloggt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, he is a HP fan and I have wanted to knit a Gryffindor sweater for him in a long time. I had a look at various versions on the net, but finally settled on buying one for these socks (blog). I changed the lion pattern - a few more rows and stitches. Added chequerboard cuffs to a otherwise stockinette raglan sweater.

Mein Sohn ist ein HP Fan und ich wollte ihm schon lange einen Gryffindor Pulli stricken. Ich habe mir einige Versionen im WWW angeschaut, mich aber schließlich entschieden, die Anleitung für diese Socken zu kaufen. (Hier ist der blog dazu). Den Löwen habe ich etwas länger und breiter gemacht, dann Bündchen im Schachbrettmuster zu einem ansonsten glatt rechts gestrickten Raglan hinzugefügt und fertig ist mein Gryffindor Pulli.


The hardest bit was to find a red yarn that was tolerable for a Gryffindor sweater. Most were either too light (this is still not the perfect color) or too purple for a boy's sweater - or if the color was right, the yarn was too bulky and hot...I was tempted to give dying a try.

Das schwierigste war eine rote Wolle zu finden, die einigermaßen für einen Gryffindor paßt. Das meißte war zu hell oder zu lilastichig. Wenn die Farbe stimmte, war die Wolle zu dick oder zu warm (oder beides). Kurz habe ich mir überlegt, ob ich nicht selbst färben soll...
