SYES

Für die lange Bahnfahrt ans Krankenbett meienr Mutter benötigte ich ein möglichst einfaches, aber dennoch schönes Strickprojekt. Wenige Tage vor der Fahrt zeigte Ulrike ihren SYES, das war genau das richtige. Zwar habe ich nicht so wunderschöne selbstgesponnene Wolle, aber ein Strang Wollmeise Paul fand sich noch in meinem Stash und schien die ideale Farbkombination für ein Herbsttuch. Mein SYES endet mit einem doppelt breitem kraus rechts Block. Den Wollmeisestrang habe ich fast gänzlich verstrickt. :D Bei dem Regenwetter konnte ich ihn auch schon gut brauchen. Die Anleitung gibt es hier.

Das verblüffende ist, dass es hier eine kostenlose Anleitung für einen kleinen Schal gibt und eine Kaufanleitung für einen großen. (Ich habe meine gekauft). Ich muß dazu sagen, dass die Anleitung für den großen Schal weniger Reihen für die glatt rechts und kraus rechts Partien angibt, als das Foto zeigt. Es ist dennoch ein hübscher Schal.

For the long journey down South I needed a mindless, but effective pattern. A few days prior to the voyage, Ulrike posted her SYES and it seemed the perfect mindless project. As I am not a spinner, I do not have such lovely yarn in my stash as Ulrike does, but I found a beautiful skein of Wollmeise Paul, which seemed the perfect yarn for an autumn shawl. The project was as mindless as wished for, but also as effective as promised by the designer. I have finished it off with a double garter stitch repeat and used up almost the entire skein. With rain setting in, I have made good use of the shawl already. Pattern available here.

The curious thing about this pattern is, that there is a free version on her blog (as I just discovered) for a small shawl and a purchasable one for the bigger shawl. I bought mine via Ravelry. I have to say, that the instructions are not coherent with the picture of the big shawl. The instructions ask for less repeats in the stockinette and garter stitch part than the pic shows. It is still a lovely pattern.
