Nadeltäschchen

I made these pin books last weekend. The pages are made from store bought hobby felt, while the cover is made from Wollmeise sockyarn! This was my last skein of her old quality which felts wonderfully in the washing machine.

Am Wochenende habe ich diese Nadelbüchlein gemacht. Der äußere Umschlag ist aus der alten Wollmeisenqualität, die noch ganz herrlich in der Waschmaschine gefilzt hat. Es war mein letzter Strang.

Here is the how to:

After knitting up the skein, put it in the washing machine and felt the piece.
Then cut a piece of approx. 11 x 18 cm, iron it. Then embellish it with a special machine stitch. Cut a small piece from the felt and attach it to the back.

Afterwards, I cut out a piece of approx. 4 x 3 cm of the hobby felt and embroidered the initials of my friends onto those/my designer name for my own pin booklet. I used the same embroidery stitch to fasten the "name tag" to the front cover.

Now cut three pieces of felt in three different colors, each piece being a bit smaller (approx. 1 cm in length and height) than the one before. And a piece in the same length as the first page (half of the larges inside rectangle) and 2 cm width. Fold it in half and sew along the bottom line. This will be the holder for your stitch markers.
Now, sew the small piece and the three layers of "pages" along the middle to the front cover.

Und so geht's:

Erstmal muß natürlich der Strang verstrickt und in der Maschine gefilzt werden. Danach habe ich etwa 11 x 18cm große Stücke ausgeschnitten und diese gebügelt! Anschließend habe ich mit einem schönen Zierstich einmal rundherum genäht. Ein kleines Stück Filz für den Verschluß ausgeschnitten und amrechten Rand angenäht.

Nun habe ich aus Hobbyfilz ein ca. 4 x 3 cm großes Stück ausgeschnitten und in die Mitte die Inititalen meiner Freundinnen bzw. meinen Ravelry Namen gestickt. Das Stückchen habe ich dann mit demselben Zierstich auf die Vorderseite genäht.

Anschließend habe ich drei Rechtecke aus Hobbyfilz ausgeschnitten, jedes immer ca. 1 cm schmaler als das vorherige. Dann noch ein Stück, dass ca. die Hälfte des größten inneren Rechtecks in der Länge und 2 cm in der Breite hatte. Das habe ich zur Hälfte umgenäht. Es wird später der Bügel für die Maschenmarkierer. Danach habe ich die 3 Rechtecke und den Bügel in der Mitte gefaltet und mittig auf den Wollmeisenfilz aufgenäht. Nun noch 2 Druckknöpfe annähen, 1 x für den Verschluß und 1 x für den Halter der Maschenmarkierer, bestücken, fertig.

Sew snap fasteners both to the closure and to the small bit on the first page to attach the piece to the first page. You can now put markers on the small piece and just snap the holder to the first page. Fill the pages with pins.
